CLOSE UP is the premier Washington, D.C. Government Study program in America. Close Up offers high school students from all fifty states as well as foreign countries an opportunity to study American Government by experiencing it first hand in our Nation's Capital for a full week. The Close Up program is the largest of its kind, and the only such program to receive federal funding. It is strongly supported by all members of Iowa's Congressional Delegation. Iowa high school students participate in the program during various weeks in the early spring, usually in February and March.
